I just started a new job in an area which is completely new territory for me: Strand. So of course, the first thing I did on Day One was to ask my colleague, a self-proclaimed coffee snob from Sydney, where his favourite coffee spot was.
He gave me a few tips and I started with the first one the list: Lundenwic. I went there on my second day too, and the third…basically I went to Lundenwic every single day on my first week.
Why? Because the coffee is very good. They even got a white board listing where the beans are from, the tasting notes (this week: red berry and toasted almonds) and where the beans have been roasted.
The pastries are also very good. I tried one new sweat treat every day. And to justify this indulgence in an overload of calories, I bought their very good salad for lunch as well.
On a final note, the atmosphere is great too. The place has got Nordic influenced interior and it's nice and quiet downstairs making it the perfect place to meet up with a friend or client for coffee or to do some remote desk work.
It will be hard to resist not going back next week. But I am on a mission to discover the other coffee and food gems in the Strand area too, so – Lundenwic, catch ya later!
