ZapSpace in Stratford is a colourful, creative and fun trampoline park for children (and adults – yes, you can bounce too!).
With three floors of freestyle jumping on large open trampoline areas, a bouncy basketball court, and a huge ball pit this is the place to wear out your kids on weekends and school holidays.
I was hesitant to the idea of a ‘trampoline park’. When our friends invited us to come along, I pictured a massive bouncing castle with older kids jumping into my little toddler. And me turning into a neurotic mum jumping in as mama bear to protect her little cub. To my huge relief the age limit during our 10-11am bouncing slot was 0-4 years. And the place is massive, - Oli had six trampolines to her own at one point and she made sure to jump mark her territory.
A downside is that when you are having a ball it’s hard to see it come to an end. Especially if you are a toddler. There was screaming, pulling and kicking taking place as the time hit 11. A priceless upside to counter balance the tantrum? The very same toddler fell asleep in five minutes at 7pm and slept until…wait…7:30am the next morning. Without any night stirrings. This has lately been unheard of in our household.
In addition to the bouncing ‘bonanza’ the venue features a café, party booths (catering for kids parties) and a soft play area for the little ones aka ‘little zappers’. And to please the parents just a tad bit more, the venue has an underground speakeasy bar called The Curious Fox. It’s so secret we missed it. We are definitely coming back so will make sure to pay a visit next time, just to tick off exploration of the full venue. ;)
Fun Fact: Previously a theatre, the long-neglected old building was redeveloped into an indoor trampoline park in 2017.
Food and coffee: There is a café at the premises where you can also bring your own snacks. For a more substantial meal, Westfield Stratford City shopping centre is a five minutes stroll from ZAPspace so there is an abundance of restaurants and cafes to choose from nearby.
